Payroll Administrator or Trainee Payroll Administrator

Full or Part Time

Maynard Johns is a modern, fast growing, and progressive accountancy practice with a friendly and supportive team. Due to continued expansion, we are currently looking for the right candidate to join our Payroll Bureau as a Payroll Administrator.

Whilst experience within a payroll environment would be an advantage, we are also interested in hearing from candidates with a strong background in a professional office environment who are looking for a new challenge with the opportunity for progression and developing a career with our firm.

Our Payroll Bureau manage a broad portfolio of clients processing payrolls of varying size and frequencies.  The responsibility within the role covers the payroll process from start to finish, monitoring the flow of information to ensure we have the correct data, processing the payroll information, providing the client with the required reports, closing the pay run for each period and producing payslips, and any associated workplace pension requirements.

Day-to Day tasks will include:

· Processing Payrolls

· Data entry

· RTI FPS submissions

· Producing required reports, payslips, P45s, pension files etc

· Supporting the team leader and other colleagues

· Year end processing

· Liaising with clients to answer queries and ensure correct data

This is a varied role with the opportunity for progression to a supervisory capacity for the right candidate. The role can be worked flexibly with a mixture of home and office working and may be suitable for full time, part time or job-share as it does require some flexible working around busier periods of the month.

The ideal candidate would have excellent I.T. knowledge with the ability to use a variety of software and databases.  Communication is a key skill for this role as it requires regular client contact and addressing client queries.

The salary will be commensurate with experience and will increase with the completion of any training required for the role, especially if there is no previous payroll experience.

Accounts Preparation Team Member

Full Time

The right candidate will be someone with a good working knowledge of accounts preparation with experience in an accountancy practice.

The position involves working closely with the accounts preparation team and senior accountants within the firm and will involve bookkeeping, preparing accounts to draft stage and preparation of VAT returns.  The ability to work as a team member is an essential part of this role. Due to the increasingly digital nature of accountancy, the ideal candidate will have a good grasp of I.T. and a willingness to learn.
