24 March 2020
Further advice and restrictions were announced on 23 March 2020 regarding social distancing and going out in public. With this in mind Maynard Johns have bought all their closure plans forward to comply with the new requirements and keep staff and clients as safe as possible.
We will, therefore, be closing our office with immediate effect. There will be some key staff in the office today to close the office down but they will not be opening our offices or seeing any clients or other members of the public.
After today the office will be closed and unmanned until further notice and staff will be working completely from home.
If you need to contact the office, please email your accountant and you will be called back to answer your query:
Payroll Department – [email protected]
Please note that as further restrictions have come into place and everyone is being asked to stay home, we will not be collecting post from the office until further notice. Please ensure all correspondence is by email from today and if you have sent information in that will arrive after today, please email details to your accountant directly.
We will update you if there are any changes and look forward to seeing you all when it is safe to do so. We advise everyone to follow all government advice and we hope everyone stays safe.
If you have any queries, please contact us.
22 March 2020
Following on from recent escalations in government advice and requirements for social distancing, we have taken the decision to close our offices to the public.
Over the last few years we have invested increasingly in technologies that will allow us to continue to offer our services to you with our staff working from home, therefore, allowing us to follow government advice and all do our bit to keep everyone safe during these difficult times.
Office Closed to the Public
From 5:00pm on Tuesday 24 March 2020 our offices will be completely closed to the public. We are maintaining a skeleton team at the office for the rest of March but drop offs and collections will be by prior arrangement only. If you need to collect or deliver anything, please contact the office to arrange this. For any drop off’s and collections we will be observing all government advice regarding social distancing and ask that you follow the instructions given by staff to keep us all safe.
Tuesday 31 March 2020 will be the last day that we have staff in our office until further notice. From 1 April 2020 if you have any records to drop off with us, please email [email protected]. We will then contact you to arrange a time to do so.
You will be required to follow social distancing advice to do this and your records will be left in our secure offices for a few days to ensure there is no cross contamination and our staff are kept safe. As this may result in some extended time frames for processing work, please do not leave this until the last minute as we may not be able to meet short deadlines. Our priority is to keep you and our staff as safe as possible.
As staff will all be working from home this will mean that records will leave our offices to be processed by staff. Please contact the office to discuss this if you have any queries.
As there will be no-one in the office to answer the telephone from 1 April, please email your accountant with your queries and they will call you back:
Jane Maynard – [email protected]
Alistair Maynard – [email protected]
Edward Johns – [email protected]
Chris Williams – [email protected]
Jane Powell – [email protected]
With no-one working in the office, post will not be collected and viewed regularly so please scan or take a photo of the items and email them to your accountant.
We will also be unable to send post out during this time so all communications will be via email. Please ensure you keep us up to date with any E Mail changes.
If we will be carrying out bookkeeping tasks for you during April and May, please do not worry. We will contact you all individually in due course to discuss with you how this will work.
During this period all Xero support will be carried out by our sister company, Cirrusli. Please email all queries to [email protected].
Our payroll services will be fully operating during this time. Our payroll bureau will also be working remotely so please continue to email [email protected] for assistance.
As our payroll department is now based remotely, all communications and payroll data will now have to be transmitted electronically. There will be no further drop-offs of information or collection of wage slips etc from our offices.
Given the restrictions moving forwards, there may be some delays so please do not leave sending us your information to the last minute. Please help us continue to provide you with a great service.

31 March and 5 April Year Ends and the New Tax Year
Many of you will be aware that it is either your business year-end approaching or the start of the new tax year and we get many of you dropping your books and records into our offices at this time of year. If you wish to let us have your books and records, please email your accountant and we will arrange for this to take place in a safe and controlled way.
Our aim is to ensure that Maynard Johns continues to support you through these difficult times. We may be working in a slightly different way over the coming weeks and months but we are still here, working away to help you keep your business moving in the right direction.
If further restrictions are put into place in the coming weeks and months some of this information may change (especially if movement becomes further restricted), but we will do our best to continue to provide the level of service you expect whilst keeping you and our staff as safe as possible and we will keep you informed of changes to our service provision as they happen.
If you have any queries, please contact us.
